The Galileo Career Path
Growth opportunities abound at Galileo. Though applicants come to us at all stages of the Galileo career path, we encourage returning staff to grow into new roles as they gain experience in our programs. We were thrilled when one of our Summer Interns was recently hired as a Lead Instructor!
Galileo offers opportunities during the academic year as well. At the end of every camp season, we hire Lead Instructors to develop curriculum for the coming year.
Camp Leaders (College Graduates)
Our camps offer aspiring educational leaders the opportunity to develop their management and leadership skills while working in a fun and rewarding environment.
CAMP DIRECTOR
Camp Directors provide overall leadership for the program, including hiring staff, providing instructional feedback and managing a team of 15 or more. CDs work part-time (5-10 hours per week) from February to May, then full-time for 6-9 weeks during the summer. The Camp Director role is unique at Galileo, in that CDs play an important role in shaping the program and staff prior to the beginning of the summer. Our hope is that Camp Directors will go on to become principals, program directors, or assume other leadership positions in the community.
We require one year of previous experience working at one of our camps before being considered for a Camp Director role. If you are interested in being considered for a Camp Director in 2011, please apply to the Camp Director 2011 position. In the application you will be asked to select the role you would be interested in for Summer 2010.
