Summer Quest Staff
Galileo Summer Quest provides a unique opportunity for campers to learn real-world skills from mentors who share their passions. We look for Major Instructors who have both a college degree and experience teaching kids, which means they not only know their subjects, but also know how to create a fun, educational summer camp environment. Major Instructors are aided by Assitant Instructors, who are always outstanding college students. And, because campers stay with the same small group for their entire session at summer camp, instructors can also customize the curriculum to support each camper’s learning style.
Each summer camp location is overseen by an experienced Camp Director, whose passion and enthusiasm drives the energy and personality of the entire camp. From interns to instructors to directors, every Galileo summer staff member goes through a rigorous, four-round hiring process – so rigorous that less than 10% of applicants are invited to become Galileo staff. We also extensively train each staff member before and throughout the summer – helping them set professional goals, observing their classes, providing on-going feedback and finally offering a constructive review. This ensures that our exceptional group only gets better.
