MEET OUR BERKELEY SUMMER CAMP TEAM

Emily Sugarman, Camp Director

Emily is excited to return for another fun-filled summer at Camp Galileo. An Oakland native, she has worked at schools and camps all across the Bay Area. Her passion for summer camp and education started in high school while working for Camp Kee Tov, where she rose from counselor-in-training to Program Head, loving every minute of her time in Tilden Park. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with degrees in Community Studies and Education, she worked for SCORE! Educational Centers, first as an Academics Manager and then as the Center Director of the Montclair Center. She also recently coordinated afterschool programs through Girls Inc. of Alameda County for 75 students at two Oakland Public Schools. During the non-camp months, she works as an elementary school office manager, where she loves getting to support students and teachers every day.
