We’re Hiring: 2012 Seasonal Home Office

Our search for a phenomenal 2012 seasonal Home Office team is officially underway! Each January, the year-round Home Office staff are joined by seasonal team members in our Recruiting and Customer Service departments who play an integral role in preparing for the upcoming summer (our eleventh!), and bring even more spirit to life at Galileo headquarters.

In addition to all the great things you know about Galileo from working at camp, Galileo Learning was recognized in 2011 as the No. 1 “Best Place to Work in the Bay Area” by The SF Business Times. Working on our Home Office team of 30+ means joining a close-knit group of high achievers who are passionate about Galileo’s mission: to develop innovators who envision and create a better world.

Who better to help us select our summer staff and convey the importance of camp than you, who have experienced the incredible fun and rich learning of a Galileo summer? Help us find great new staff members who will contribute to the magic of camp from behind the scenes, spending the spring months with a team interested in supporting your professional development.

Customer Service Team

The Customer Service Team is responsible for establishing and maintaining great service to Galileo families, and for supporting Camp Directors and Operations Coordinators with enrollment throughout the summer.

Customer Service Specialists: In addition to responding to customer phone calls and emails with enthusiasm and professionalism, Customer Service Specialists assist with Galileo’s financial assistance program, reviewing applications and awarding financial assistance to approximately 1,000 campers.  If introducing families to the magic of Galileo, keeping accurate track of details, working with software and technology, and being part of a close-knit team sound enjoyable, then this position might be the right fit for you.

  • 3 Full-time, January 3 – various ending dates in July and August
  • 1 Full-time, March 5 - July 27
  • 4 mandatory training dates, December 12 – 15

Recruiting Team

The seasonal Recruiting team is a high-functioning, fast-paced, fun-loving team of people dedicated to finding excellent staff and warmly welcoming them to our community.  We are currently looking to fill eight total positions in the roles listed below.  With the exception of the Recruiting Coordinator, all positions allow for working at camp during the summer.*

Phone Interviewers: The Phone Interview team screens all applications, conducts phone interviews, and gives new Galileo staff applicants their first glimpse into being a Galileo staffer.  Phone interviewers need strong people skills and strong candidate assessment skills.  In addition to three full-time phone interviewers, there will be two positions with alternative schedules.

  • 3 Full-time, January 3 - mid-June
  • 1 Part-Time January 3 - March, Full-time April- mid-June
  • 1 Full-time April 2 - mid-June

Recruiting Coordinator: If you are detail-oriented and love checking things off your to-do list, the Recruiting Coordinator position is for you.  This position manages all logistics of the hiring process, including scheduling, working regularly and intensively in Galileo’s online applicant tracking system, and regular candidate communication by phone and email.

  • Full-time, January 3 -August 15

Outreach  Coordinator: The newest position on the Recruiting team, this team member will spend some time conducting phone interviews, and some time executing our annual staff outreach plan – including job posting, attending job fairs, and generally getting the word out about open Galileo positions.

  • Full-time, January 3 -mid-June

Onboarding Coordinator: After staff have been hired, this recruiting team member helps welcome them into the Galileo community, coordinating all logistics necessary to transition from candidate to staffer.  This is a great position for an incredibly detail-oriented person interested in Human Resources.

  • Part-Time January 3 - March, Full-time April- mid-June*

*The preferred end date for the Onboarding Coordinator is mid-late June, but accommodation can be made for an exceptional candidate who would like to work at camp during the summer.
