What is your role at Galileo? Camp Galileo Curriculum Manager

How long have you been with Galileo? 5 ½ years

Why did you choose to work at Galileo? I believe that we are providing campers with skills and knowledge essential to their lives. I’m passionate about experiential education and I feel we do an outstanding job of creating a positive learning forum for our campers. I also feel we’re providing children with knowledge and skills they will need every day in their lives. I’m living what I believe in every day.

Has working at Galileo changed your outlook on education? I was always an advocate of hands-on education. Camp G has introduced me to the engineering side of science and has broadened my understanding of science education. I’ve also been convinced that learning can be so much fun!

If you could pick one 2010 theme or major in which to participate, which would it be? Flight

Did you attend camp as a kid? If so, do you have any memories? Yes, I attended day and overnight camp. I have many memories, but one of my favorites was going on pre-breakfast trail rides (on horses) at overnight camp in Wisconsin.

When you were very young, what did you want to be when you grew up? I grew up at a time when girls didn’t aspire to be much other than housewives and mothers. Fortunately that has changed as I’ve gotten older!

What would you name your very own rubber chicken? George

What is the most outdoorsy or adventurous thing you’ve ever done? Repelling off mountainsides, backpacking over the Continental Divide.
