Design your perfect summer day by choosing 2 Minors every session, and experience even more of what Galileo Summer Quest has to offer.

Hip Hop Dance
Get into the groove, and slide away with some cool new moves! Watch and learn choreography and rhythm from top dance artists, use improvisational skills for an impromptu “dance-off” then perform for your parents and fellow campers at the end of the session.
Quasars (7th-8th graders): Explore a dance style of your choice, and pick your own song to choreograph a routine to!
Improv
Step outside yourself, and learn to invent goofy characters and exotic locales. Galileo’s Improv Minor is perfect for all experience levels. Get silly with fun theater games and activities like Freeze, Party Quirks and Lines From a Box, then enjoy group Improv challenges which focus on teamwork.
Quasars (7th-8th graders): Take over one Opening Ceremony! Teach the whole camp your favorite games and give them an Improv show they’ll never forget.
Jewelry Design
Use your imagination to craft dazzling works of wearable art! Collaborate with a design team to solve daily challenges, and utilize a variety of interesting materials while you learn to make original bracelets, pendants and necklaces to bring home to your family and friends. .
Quasars (7th-8th graders):
Create a piece of jewelry with a unique feature that no one knows but you!
Kitchen Chemistry
Uncover the secrets of your kitchen cupboards by learning the scientific concepts behind molecular interactions and the properties of common foods and smells. Throughout the session, you’ll create a variety of different confectionary treats with unique ingredients, and learn how to make ice cream in mere seconds!

Science of Explosions
This Minor is a guaranteed blast! Begin with some hands-on safety training, then dive right in to some explosive projects. Learn about a variety of explosion types, gain an engineer’s perspective on the usefulness of explosions in building demolition and build fully functional small-scale rockets using matches and Alka Seltzer.
Quasars (7th-8th graders): Learn the science of fireworks, and make a batch of your own!
Green Design
Learn how to harness and engineer the most abundant energy source on the planet—the sun! Explore the fundamentals of electricity and invent contraptions to keep our planet and bodies healthy. Projects include a solar oven that makes delicious sun-baked cookies, a car that never needs to re-fuel and your own hot air balloon.
Quasars (7th-8th graders): Use everything you’ve learned about solar cells, electricity and motors to design an elevator lift that can rescue people from a tree house.
Sports Medley
Learn the rules and strategies behind many popular sports, including basketball, soccer, track and field and ultimate frisbee. All levels of experience will love the Galileo approach to competition, where the focus is on sportsmanship and the importance of teamwork. At session’s end, create your own original sport and teach it to your fellow campers.
Quasars (7th-8th graders):
Create an original sport with your team and host an exhibition game! You get to teach it, play it and ref it, while your Camp Director does live commentary.
