The principles and facts relevant to their work, such as the color wheel and how it works, Newton’s Laws and their applications, the relative strength of materials or the harmonic scale

Historical Context:

The innovations that came before theirs, such as the way Impressionists represented light, the seminal platformer video games, the flight machines of the 20th century or the history of Jazz

Skills and Techniques:

How to use relevant tools and processes effectively, such as techniques for sculpting with clay, how to use Photoshop, methods for extracting DNA or rules for writing computer programs

Audience and Environment:

The needs and physical context of their users, such as a customer’s favorite color, the footwear needs of a rainforest dweller, how the Maasai people access water or safety considerations for baby toys
