CAMP DIRECTOR (weeks 1-4):
Yasmine “Yasi” Safinya-Davies

CDYasi is thrilled to return for her 5th year as Camp Director! For the last 4 years Yasi has been the Founder and Camp Director of our Fremont Camp Galileo location. She has a Bachelor’s in Biology, a Master's in Clinical Psychology and is currently completing her docturate in a Clinical Psychology. Before Camp Galileo, Yasi had a myriad of work expereinces including three years with the Peace Corps in South America as a Community Developer and a Habitat for Humanity founder. But none has been as colorful as Camp G!





CAMP DIRECTOR (weeks 5-6):
Glenn Howe

CDGlenn is excited to return for his second year as the Founding Camp Director of our Oakland Galileo Summer Quest site, and will also serve as Camp Director at Camp Galileo El Cerrito for the final two weeks of the summer. This will be his third summer with Galileo, after starting as a Lead Science Instructor at Camp Galileo in 2008. After earning a degree in Education from Humboldt State University, Glen served as the Co-Director at Humboldt State’s Center for Appropriate Technology, and also directed a leadership training camp for the Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, Glenn has been hard at work managing curriculum development for all of Galileo Summer Quest’s Minors. He brings to Galileo a deep love for science and the outdoors, and is eager to help inspire Galileo’s next generation of campers!
