WHAT TO BRING
Clothing
Campers should wear casual clothing and comfortable shoes for indoor and outdoor activities. On Thursdays, they should wear bathing suits and bring towels and appropriate shoes for water play activities (NOT in a pool). Each camper will also receive one Camp Galileo t-shirt during their first week of camp.
Food
Each camper is responsible for bringing a daily snack, lunch and a water bottle to camp. If your child is staying for afternoon Extended Care, please include a second snack. We provide bins for campers to store lunch boxes, water bottles and other belongings. Please note: Campers may not share food due to health and safety restrictions.
Sun Protection
Campers should arrive with sunscreen already applied and should bring a hat.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in
A parent or guardian is required to check in with campers on Monday. At Monday morning check-in, you will receive "How to be a Galileo Camper" and "Staff Bio" handouts, which will give you important information about your camp experience and help you get to know our staff.
Check-in on Monday of each week is 8:30 - 9:00am. For every day thereafter, you may drop off your campers between 8:50 - 9:00am. Families arriving before 8:50am can choose to wait with their campers until check-in, or pay the $10 charge for morning Extended Care, space permitting.
Check-Out
Check-out is at 3pm each day. If you have enrolled your Nebula in the Part Day Program, check-out is at 1pm each day. We require a photo ID and signature from an adult on your campers' authorized pick-up list every day at check-out. If you would like to add a person to your campers' authorized pick-up list, please provide written notice or visit the Help Desk during morning check-in.
Families arriving after 3:10pm (or 1pm for Part Day Nebulas) will be charged a $1 per minute late fee. Your child will wait in the camp office or in Extended Care.
If your child is in afternoon Extended Care, check-out is at 5:30pm. Families arriving after 5:30pm will be charged a $1 per minute late fee.

ADDING EXTENDED CARE/ADDITIONAL SESSIONS
We offer Extended Care from 8-9am and 3-5:30pm. If space is still available, you may register for full weeks of Extended Care in advance by calling us or enrolling online. If you'd like to register for a la carte Extended Care days, and space is still available, you may do so when you arrive at camp. Please note: Do not rely on the a la carte option for last-minute care—many of our sites do not have Extended Care space available.
Interested in signing up for additional weeks of camp this summer? Check here for up-to-the minute availability. You can enroll online for the following week through Wednesday at 5pm. After that time, please call our Customer Service Team at 1-800-854-3684 to enroll.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Friday Closing
Every Friday at 2:30pm, parents are invited and encouraged to attend Camp Galileo's Friday Closing. You will hear from your Camp Director, get a taste of what your campers experienced throughout the week and have an opportunity to visit your campers' classrooms to meet their instructors and see their creations.
As we encourage group work at Camp Galileo, campers will create group projects that will remain at camp in addition to the individual projects they can take home. Please have your child bring a paper grocery-sized bag on Friday for taking home these individual projects.
Parent Surveys
On Fridays you will receive an email containing our weekly survey. Please take the time to complete the survey, as we read them carefully and use your input to make improvements throughout the summer. We also encourage you to share any feedback with your Camp Director.
Recycled Materials
As campers use a variety of recycled materials for projects, we would appreciate any donations of the following items:
Nebulas: plastic bottle caps, bubble wrap, cardboard, cereal and cracker boxes, corks, egg cartons, film canisters, magazines, milk cartons, newspaper, plastic bottles, plastic containers & lids, reflective objects, berry baskets, toilet paper and paper towel tubes

FINE PRINT
Lost and Found
Each camp site runs its own lost and found, and will keep these items in a designated spot throughout the summer. Please check the lost and found during the week and ask your Camp Director if you are still missing something specific. We are unable to store lost and found items once camp is over; after the final day of camp at each location, we will donate any unclaimed items.
Sick Policy
Galileo strives to maintain a healthy environment for our campers and staff. If your child is sick and there is any chance they are contagious, please do not send them to camp. Please also call the Camp Director to notify them of your camper's absence. If a camper becomes sick while at camp, we will call a parent to come pick him/her up.
EpiPens
If your child requires an EpiPen, please make sure you bring it to camp on Monday morning. All parents/guardians who have a child attending camp with an EpiPen will be required to sign an authorization form on the first day. All staff members have received training on how to administer an EpiPen in the event of an emergency. If you would like to discuss your child's situation in more detail with your Camp Director, please call him/her the week before.
Camper Aides
All camper aides must be approved by Galileo and complete a background check before camp begins. Please contact our Customer Service Team to make necessary arrangements.

Behavior Issues
A camper who disrupts the camp experience for others will receive three warnings, after which a parent will be contacted to pick him/her up. We have a zero tolerance policy for hitting or inflicting physical harm on other campers; in those cases, parents will be contacted to pick up their child immediately. Refunds will not be issued to campers who are asked to leave.
What to Leave at Home
We ask campers to please leave pets, cell phones, video games and other technology items at home. Obviously, we do not allow weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other banned substances at camp. Thank you!
Emergency Preparedness
Camp Galileo has created a plan in case of fire, earthquake and other emergency situations. For medical emergencies, we will use the hospital closest each camp location. Additionally, at least two staff members certified in child first aid and CPR are at camp at all times. Camp Directors will contact parents immediately if a child is injured in any way. If you need to contact your child or a staff member during camp, please refer to the Camp Director contact information below.
Open for 4th of July
Camp will run at all locations on Friday, July 2 and Monday, July 5.
